Breeders Win
Big At W. Va.
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. Angus breeders from Virginia went
home with grand and reserve grand champion honors from
the 1990 West Virginia State Fair Angus Show in Lewis
burg. Erskine Cash, Centre Hall, Pennsylvania, judged the
93 entries and selected the champions from the bulls, heif
ers, and cow-calf pairs.
Among the 67 heifer entries, Andrew Aitcheson Jr., of
Waynesboro, Virginia, showed the grand champion. His
winner is B H Miss Canada Charlie E9C. First named the
junior heifer calf champion, she is a January 1990 daughter
of JAC’s Hudson.
The reserve junior heifer calf won the reserve grand
champion female honor. Owned by Evie and John Pyne Jr.
of Culpeper, Virginia, the heifer is J P Karama 8100 and is a
January 1990 daughter of Cobble Pond William Henry.
In other heifer competition, Byrnley of The Plains, Virgi
nia, displayed the senior heifer calf champion named Bym
ley Patches 7179. The reserve senior heifer calf winner was
Clear View Key Karama 27 owned by Clear View Farm,
Louisa, Virginia and J. Carlton Clore, Culpeper, Virginia.
The intermediate champion female was Kruegers Bellona
owned by Whitney Dalton of Altavista, Virginia. Reserve
intermediate heifer honors were presented to Andrew Aitch
eson for B H Lass 349 C.
W G Elise 925 was named the junior champion female
and is owned by Mr. and Mrs. R. Carroll Grove of Waynes
boro, Virginia. The reserve junior champion was Fox Hill
Twilight 9067 exhibited by Bymley.
The senior division championship was awarded to
Michael Dawson of Lost Creek, West Virginia, for T M F
Skarship Lessie. The reserve senior female was W G Miss
Pizzazz exhibited by R. Carroll Grove.
Hill Crest Thistle was named grand champion buffas well
as the junioi champion winner. An April 1989 sn of S A F
Power Shaft 6021, he is owned by Susan Rucker, Delaplane,
Virginia, and G.T. Ward, Marshall, Virginia.
The reserve grand champion banner was presented to
Danwcll Farms of Earlysville, Virginia, for White Hall
Superman ES6. The bull first won the senior championship
and is an October 1988 son of B & L Stitch 6183.
In other bull competition. Clear View Cosmo won the
junior calf championship for owners J. Carlton Clore and
Clear View Farm. Houston Moore Jr., Lewisburg, West Vir
ginia, led Greenbrier Manhattan to the reserve junior calf
championship.
The senior bull calf champion was Bymley Valentino
2249 owned by Bymley. Reserve senior bull calf laurels
were presented to Willow Oak Farms Inc., Nokesville, Vir
ginia, and Bymley for their entry W O Patch 149.
Zcuswyn Mac Bo 039 won the intermediate champion
ship for J. Carlton Clore and William Graves, Culpeper, Vir
ginia. Bymley Mac 6389 won the reserve intermediate
championship for Bymley.
T M F Mac Kenzie Pride was named the reserve junior
champion. He is owned by Raven Farms, Ripley, West Vir
ginia. J. Carlton Clore owned yet another winner, the reserve
senior bull champion. That entry was Zeuswyn Rambo 039.
Doug Goodwin, Lewisburg, West Virginia, displayed the
champion cow-calf pair, and Clear View Farm Louisa, Vir
ginia, showed the reserve pair. The champion pair went to
Bymley Idelette 3014, an October 1984 cow, and her March
heifer calf. The reserve duo was Zeuswyn Queen 1867, a
January 1987 cow, and her March bull calf.
