and I picked eight ripe strawber
ries in September, and they are not
the everbearing variety.
While I was in the garden, I
intended to bring in a cantaloupe
for supper, but instead I picked a
big, round watermelon.. It was
very sweet and we enjoyed it.
Also I noticed were grapes that
must be picked to make juice.
They are not very nice bunches as
there are a few green ones that
must be picked off and thrown
away. However, I’m always glad
to have a few quarts to take out to
the men on a hot afternoon. „

started leeling better right away, but called in October saying she was awful sick Her lather
told her, after a lew times, to get off the product. She got upset and hung up I was getting
ready to call her on December 3, 1988 to wish her a Happy Birthday and she called saying
that I would not believe It, but she was three months pregnant We said, ‘Praise the Lord!"
The doctor did not believe it. She had to go the next day., lor an ultra sound Sure enough
she was going to be a mother.

test held in Salisbury, Maryland,
in 1949, and only three judges.
Contest archives record that the
judges “munched, nibbled,
chewed and ate chicken” from 4
o’clock in the afternoon until
11:00 p.m. before awarding first
prize to Mrs. A.L. Karlik of Salis

Winning recipes from the
National Chicken Cooking Con
