“By making Gate 2 entrance
only, we will be able to have four
lanes of traffic entering the fair.”
said Mark Heckathom, fair vice
president “This will allow us to
get people through the gate faster

people waiting to get into the
fair.”
Another change is the addition

strative office, computer facilities,
accounting office, and storage
facilities. The new building
replaces a smaller office and a
mobile trailer that had housed the
fair’s computers.
“We’ve needed more space for
several years,” Heckathom said.
“As the fair grew and attendance
and entries increased, we outgrew
the old office and had to rent the
trailer to house the computers
used to record entries and winners
and to print the premium checks.
The new building will also give us
storage space for fair records that
had to be stored at various peo
ple’s houses in the past.”

In mixing.
Oswalt TMR/Hay Processors are clearly
superior in their ability to mix all types of
ration Ingredients, including dry hay A
reel-type mixer, particularly when fully
. loaded, retains a quantity of the dry hay in
the center of the reel which then simply
turns over with the reel and receives little
mixing. Your hay just gets a free ride and
your final mix Is uneven at best. In an
Oswalt TMR/Hay Processor, the hay is
processed and evenly and aggressively
mixed throughout the ration It has no
place to hide.

A key element of mixing dry hay into a
ration is processing the hay while all ration
ingredients are being mixed. That means
tearing the hay apart and reducing fiber
length during the mixing process
In an Oswalt, the notched bottom auger
working against the shear shell, does the
primary job of tearing the hay slabs apart
and reducing the length of long hay
stems
The aggressive square top-augers (a
patented Oswalt exclusive) grab the hay
slabs and finish the processing job.

Philadelphia Folk Festival this
year.
The Festival a three-day
extravaganza of traditional and
folk music, dance, crafts, juggling,
storytelling, and camping takes
place August 24 to 26 on the Old
Pool Farm near Schwenksville,
Pennsylvania.
The festival is run entirely by
volunteers, who handle security in
the concert and camping areas,
parking, ticket and T-shirt sales,
and all other activities related to
putting on the festival. In return
for about 20 hours work over the
course of the weekend, volunteers
get free entrance to the festival,
free camping and two meals a day,
not to mention all the music they
want.
