Trading activity was mixed with buyers
and sellers cautious and closely watching
related markets. Raw materials varied in
their availability and heavier product was
becoming scarce Most plants operated full
schedules and floor stocks were usually
sufficient to satisfy current requirements.

egg demand was sporadic and usually no
better than fair. Demand for loose eggs was
about moderate. Supplies were tightening
up and additional product was more diffi
cult to find especially on the heavier sizes.

NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE: The market tone remained fully
steady to firm. Movement was about mod
erate and mostly of a seasonal nature. Sup
plies continued to tighten especially on the
heavier classes of product. Additional
offerings, where available, were confident
ly held. Breakers were cautious and work
ed accordingly.

Movement of ready to cook whole fryers
was no better than fair but about as
expected for mid-week trading. Supplies
were generally adequate. Less than
***trucklot***asking prices were steady
at 61-76 cents. Live supplies were adequ
ate. Average live weights ranged light to
desirable. Processing schedules were
heavy. The trade sentiment was steady. In
the parts complex, supplies of wings were
very tight, whole breasts were in close
balance with immediate needs, cutlets
were at least adequate, and dark meat items
were somewhat irregular and ranged
adequate to ample, with reports that some
leg items were offered at highly competi
tive prices to clear.

Trucklot buying interest was limited foi
all items except wings which were short of
an active call. Supplies and offerings of
skinned boneless breasts were light but
adequate to fully adequate overall. Rib-on
breasts were adequate and generally well
balanced on yellow supplies. Line run
breasts ranged adequate to heavy and slow
in clearing on white product in Southern
shipping channels. Legs, drums and parti
cularly leg quarters were fully adequate to
ample. Thighs were no more than adequate
and generally tight. Giblets were adequate.
