The Columbia-Luzeme Dairy Princess Coronation was held on June 19,1990 at the Light street Grange in Bloomsburg. A roast beef dinner was served at 7:30 p.m., followed by the crown ing of the 1990 Dairy Princess Lori Hess by the 1989 Princess Maggie Manzoni. Lori entertained the crowd with a presentation she called “Her Milk Family” with herself being dressed in a large milk carton as Wayne County Youths Win State Shooting Tournament ORANGEVILLE (Columbia Co.) A team of junior-age com petitors from Wayne County emerged as the top-scoring team at the “1990 Pennsylvania Youth Hunter Education Shooting Tour nament” that was held here in ear ly June at the Orangeville Sports men’s Club. Members of this winning junior team (12-14 years of age) are: Joshua Racht, Waymart; George Waters Jr., Waymart; Nathan Gries, Milanville; Matthew Yerk es, Milanville; and Daniel Gustaf son, Tyler Hill. Her father, mother and brother Neil all work in the family agri-business “DcLaval Dairy Equipment” Lori attends the Benton Area High School and plays clarinet in the school band. She is active in many community affairs, playing piano and clarinet with “The Small World Club,” Catawissa Military Band, Bloomsburg Uni- caliber) target shooting, hunter’s clays and archery target shooting. This team is now preparing for the “1990 Hunter Education Invi tational” scheduled for July 23 to July 26, at Camp McCain, in Gre nada, Miss. This team will be Pen nsylvania’s representative in the junior-age competition at this event. The junior team members also placed well as individuals. Racht placed first in small caliber riflery and was top overall junior-age shooter. Waters was third high individual in small caliber riflery and third high overall shooter. Gustafson and Yerkes tied for third place in the sporting (hunt er’s) clays competition. Lori is looking forward to attending Brigham Young where she will major in music. She hopes to teach music. Lori enjoys working with peo ple and will devote one full year promoting dairy products in Co lumbia and Luzerne counties.
