Blessington will become a regional extension director and head of the Western Maryland Research and Education Center on June 1. Blessington, 43, will be respon sible for operating the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station’s 546-acre research facility located near Kcedysville. His doctoral and current research focus is on developing post-production systems for inter ior ornamentals. Supporting the diverse agricultur al segments of Western Maryland, research at the center includes fruit cultivar and rootstock trials, integrated pest management, and biocontrol studies. Light
