The sale order will begin with Angus, followed by Chianina,
Simmental, Gelbvieh, Hereford, Charolais, Shorthorn, Red
Angus, and Polled Hereford.
Eighteen Angus will be offered with the first two bulls hav
ing achieved “Certified Superior” rank. Bull #95027 sired by
Grubbs MacKenzie and consigned by Ballantrae Angus Farm,
Westfield, NY had a sth period ADG of 3.95 lbs., a cumulative
ADG of 4.63 lbs. (ratio 1.15), and a WPDA of 3.67 lbs. (rado
1.14). The other “Certified Superior” Angus, #95056, is also a
son of Grubbs MacKenzie and is consigned by Bippert’s Farm,
Alden, NY. He had a fifth period ADG of 4.12 lbs., a cumula
tive ADG of 4.45 lbs. (rado 1.11), and a WPDA of 3.57 lbs.
(ratio 1.11). Overall, the 30 Angus bulls on test had a period
ADG of 3.73 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 4.11 lbs. and a WPDA
of 3.24 lbs.
The one Chianina (#95064) qualified for the sale with a sth
period ADG of 4.42 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 4.27 lbs. (ratio
1.07), and a WPDA of 3.43 lbs. (ratio 1.01). This bull is sired
by VF Prospector CA, and consigned by People/Mapleview
Ranch, Volant, PA.
Four of the twenty Simmental bulls consigned certified. The
top Simmental (#95077) is consigned by Shoemaker’s Sim
mental, Manns Choice, PA. Sired by Payroll, this bull had a sth
weigh ADG of 4.55 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 5.09 lbs. (ratio
1.27), and a WPDA of 3.42 lbs. (ratio 1.01). Together, the Sim
mental bulls on test had a period weight of 3.64 lbs., a cumula
tive ADG of 3.93 lbs., and a WPDA of 3.38 lbs.
The only Gelbvish (#95086) certified for the sale consigned
by Elmer Newman, DeKalb Junction, NY this son of LNR
Minnesota-Magnum had a sth period ADG of 4.60 lbs., a
emulative ADG of 4.74 lbs. (ratio 1.18), and a WPDA of 3.60
lbs. (ratio 1.09).
One (#95039) of two Hereford bulls tested by David
Schubel, Medina, NY certified. Sired by WS Approval, this
bull had a sth period ADG of 4.31 lbs., a cumulative ADG of
4.26 lbs. (ratio 1.06), and a WPDA of 3.25 lbs. (ratio 1.01).
Five Charolais bulls will be offered. A consignment
(#95016) from Holmes-Stead Charolais, Phoenix, NY led all
Charolais with a sth weigh ADG of 4.26 lbs., a cumulative
ADG of 4.59 lbs. (ratio 1.15) and a WPDA of 3.61 lbs. (ratio
1.07). Overall, the six Charolais had a period ADG of 3.85 lbs.,
a cumulative ADG of 4.18 lbs. and a WPDA of 3.40 lbs.
There will be eight Shorthorn bulls in the sale, and a consign
ment (#95.001) from Ashwood Farm, Castle Creek, NY has
“Certified Superior.” Sired by Alexander, this bull had a sth
period ADG of 3.89 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 4.45 lbs. (ratio
1.11) and a WPDA of 3.63 lbs. (ratio 1.13). The 10 Shorthorn
tested achieved a period ADG of 3.82 lbs., a cumulative ADG
of 4.14 lbs. and a WPDA of 3.30 lbs.
The single Red Angus bull (#95013) certified for the sale.
Consigned by Ken Marquis, Ithaca, NY this son of VAF 18IS
had a period ADG of 3.60 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 4.07 lbs.
(ratio 1.01), and a WPDA of 3.36 lbs. (ratio 1.04).
Ten Polled Hereford bulls will be offered and a consignment
(#95098) from Stone Ridge Farm, Livingston Manor, NY “Cer
tified Superior.” This son of G&R AJS Raceway had a period
gain of 4.56 lbs., a cumulative ADG of 4.75 lbs. (ratio 1.18),
and a WPDA of 3.61 lbs. (ratio 1.12). Overall, the 28 Polled
Herefords had a period ADG of 3.74 lbs., a cumulative ADG of
3.90 lbs. and a WPDA of 3.18 lbs.
