Agreement Benefits Soy Farmers soybean meal for two million metric tons of wheat or feedgrains in meeting their annual minimum purchase of at least 10 million metric tons. The new agreement is an increase from the nine million ton minimum in the current agree ment, which expires December 31, 1990. ‘The Soviet Union is the largest potential growth market for soy beans and soybean products,” said Buck McCann, first vice president of the American Soybean Associ ation. ‘This agreement opens new doors for U.S. soybean farmers to sell their products.” The competition hasn’t kept up with Massey-Ferguson. Have you? Still the real leader. Massey-Ferguson caught the competition by surprise when they in troduced the revolutionary M-F Autotronic' tractors 3 years ago. Today the newest models stUl can’t match the productivity of the M-F Autotronic trac tors. Here’s why: Tighter turning. When making tight turns on the headlands, you need to quickly disen gage the differential lock, but keep the 4WD to pull you sharply through the turn. Raise your 3-point hitch or touch a brake and M-F Autotronic trac tors automatically disengage the differential lock, but continues the 4WD so you can turn faster and sharper. The competition shuts off their front-wheel assist, or does nothing. Riduced slippage. How often have you wasted fuel and time from unnecessary wheel spin, or even been stopped when one wheel dug in, just because you forgot to re-engage the differential lock or 4WD? ► Drop the three-point hitch and M-F Autotronic tractors automati cally re-engage the differential lock to prevent spinning and lost time. ► On 4WD models, touch the differential lock and it auto matically engages the 4WD. Improved control. Stopping a heavy load can be hard on your tractor and your nerves. But it doesn’t have to be. M.M. WEAVER & SON N. QroHdala Rd. Laota, PA 17540 Ph: (717) 656-2321 As soon as you apply the brakes on 4WD models, the tractor in stantly engages the 4WD to give you effective 4-wheel braking and maximum control. Gentler PTO. Independent PTO systems can be pretty hard on shear pins, clutches and implements. ► M-F Autotronic tractors auto matically measure the PTO load and engage the clutch smoothly and progressively to prevent damage. Sava fuel and tins. 4WD is great in the field, but not on the road. ► M-F Autotronic tractors auto matically disengage the 4WD at speeds over 9 mph (14 KPH) for better fuel economy and less tire wear. ► Slow down, and 4WD is re-engaged for maximum control and traction. According to Steve Nemeth, ASA staff director of Eastern Eur ope, the long-term feed protein potential in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe is probably 100 million metric tons. “Gorbachev has said they don’t have enough protein to supple ment grain in feed rations,” said Nemeth. “They will have to import grain in the future, but also protein.” The new trade agreement, ASA said, paves the way for those sales over the next five years. ‘There is obviously a growing demand in the Soviet Union for CTF MW INC - D.W. The new agreement is an important step to make sure we do.” In 1988-89, the 6th year of the current seven-year agreement, the Soviets purchased 1.3. million metric tons of soybean meal and 442,500 metric tons of soybeans. Purchases since Oct. 1, 1989 total 1,047 million metric tons of soy bean meal and 217,900 metric tons of soybeans. Compare all the benefits. See and drive the competition’s copies of the M-F Autotronic tractors. Then stop by your M-F Dealer and see the real value and performance that has made Massey-Ferguson the Western Worldb largest tractor manufacturer. Then, if you still think their tractor is better, buy it. 2024 102 4 2024 >4 ONLYI ‘MwrfMtww'i ntrt no HwNpMNr. ABumsd vtrty Common WUI7 4 ONLY 2024
