These three Berks Co. farmers placed in the state 5-Acre
Com Contest Paul Lechner, left, placed third In the shelled
com division with a three-year average of 158 bushels.
Dave Schantz, center, was second In the ear class with a
170 bu three-year average. At the right, Floyd Kurtz placed
third in the shelled corn contest In 1989 with a yield of 175.2
'■ bushels to the acre. Kurtz placed second in the county con
test to Burd Schantz’s 176 bu bumper crop.
