Women #l9 held its January
meeting at the Willow Valley
Manor with Virginia Root as hos
tess. Members brought articles for
women and children at the Water
Street Rescue Mission and a
monetary gift
The program was entitled
“Teachers Day” and entertain
ment was by Beth Dum, Ruth Hei
sey, Elsie Hollinger, Esther Land
is, Millie Lehman, Alta Miller,
Betty Saylor and Hazel Stauffer -

at Joe Myers. Resident Mildred

Information on the May trip to
Annapolis was given by Betty
Saylor and members were encour
aged to make reservations.
February 10, 1:30 p.m., is the
date for the next meeting at the
home of Eva Myers, East
Petersburg.

Lebanon
Society 20
Lebanon County Farm Women
Group #2t> met recently at the
home of May Stamm.
Cpl. Glenn cousins of the
Jonestown State Police barracks
spoke to the group about seatbelt
safety. Questions about seatbelt
laws, fines and waivers were
answered.
Plans were finalized for the
February 3 sale at Ed and Sarah
Funck’s. The ladies will be pro
viding the food stand. Members
signed up for various food items
they wish to contribute and time
slots they desire to help sell.
A conference, “Warning! Farm
ing Is Hazardous To Your Child”
will be held February 6, at the
Days Inn, Penn State, sponsored
by the agricultural safety council.
Members discussed a trip to the
Easter Show at Sight and Sound at
Lancaster. The trip committee is
looking into acquiring sufficient
tickets for a Saturday in March.
The February meeting will be
held at Joyce Stoner’s home,

Society 26
The January meeting of the
Green Valley Society of Harm
Women #26 was held at Bonanza
Restaurant with Shirley Miller as
hostess.
Twelve members and two vis
itors were present.
Reports on the state convention
were given by the delegates.
January birthdays were Luna
Kohler, Naomi Cashner and Mary
Conley.
Berks Society 1
The Society of Farm Women
Group 1 held their January meet
ing at the home of Ruth Walters.
Agnes Noll, vice president con
ducted the business meeting and
also read the by-laws.
Fourteen members answered to
roll call, answering the question
“Did you make any New Year’s
Resolutions”.
The February meeting will be
held February 14 for lunch at 12
noon at the Oley Legion Diner,
Oley.
Members are to bring some
thing red in a brown paper bag.
Lancaster
Society 18
Sixteen members attended the
Lancaster Society of Farm
Women meeting on January 13.
Members sewed 24 bed pads
and 14 chair pads.
It was reported members spent
135 hours, plus a couple days at
the Heart Association in Novem
ber and December 1989.
Reports were given by Mrs.
Katherine Darlene and Mrs.
Frances Greenewalt about the
state convention.
There were five members with
a record of perfect attendance in
1989.
After reports were given, by
laws were read. The next meeting
will be February 10, at 1:30 p.m.
at the home of Frances Greena
walt, 45 Sand Hill Rd., Conestoga.
