KUTZTOWN (Berks Co.) —Raymond and. Na
ncy Seidel of Kerchenhill Holslcins were pleased to
accept the award for high BAA at the Berks County
Holstein Club’s annual meeting held recently at the
Kutztown Grange. The Seidel’s herd had a BAA of
106.4.
The BAA award was only one of many given out
during the evening. Honored as distinguished Junior
Holstein Club members were Erica Davis, distin
guished junior girl; Tammy Balthaser, distin
guished senior girl; Dwight Stoltzfus, senior boy.
Diane Troutman garnered four first-place records
in the Junior Holstein Club’s milk, fat, and protein
contests. In the four-year-old division, her entry Ge-
Ma-Dc Pepsi produced 24,025 pounds of milk, 883
pounds of fat, and 713 pounds of protein to lead her
age group. Denise Stump’s Stumpland Pete Fame
picked up the five-year-old honors by producing
27,146 pounds of milk and 873 pounds of fat
Two-year-old Daview Ned Marble, owned by
Michael Davis, produced 773 pounds of fat and 655
pounds of protein to take the honors in her age
group. Jeffrey Davis’ Daview Scgis Patty was the
lop milker with 20,657 pounds of milk.
Jeremy Troutman picked up all the three-year-old
awards with his cow Oakcnbound Chief Frost. Frost
made 26,458 pounds of milk, 1,007 pounds of fat,
and 806 pounds of protein.
Connie Troutman, David Poole, and Luther
Davis were elected as directors during the business
portion of the meeting. The juniors elected Michael
Davis, Jon Grimes, and Duane Stump to the same
positions in their organization.
The club sold 1,240 pounds of cheese during their
first sale. David Schanlz sold more than 250 pounds
of product and was honored as the top salesman.
The George and Scott Troutman families were
thanked for hosting the annual picnic.
