MEADVHUE (Crawford Co.) Fifty-five Crawford County 4-H Dairy project animals com peted in the 34th Pennsylvania Junior Dairy Show held at the Farm Show Building, Harrisburg, PA, on September 25,1989. A tot al of 996 4-H and FFA project ani mals in all six dairy breeds were catalogued to compete in the state judging. These 4-H and FFA pro ject animals had received blue rib bons at their local roundups held in their respective counties throughout the state. Then these animals competed in the various district show competition and received blue ribbons and were recommended for the state com petition. Crawford County 4-H placings by dairy breed were as follows: Ayrshire Breed: Michael Allen, Conneaut Lake, Ist place with his Intermediate calf and a master fitter award. He also received 3rd place and a mas ter fitter award with his Intermedi ate yearling. Matthew Lyons, Cochranton. 3rd place with his Senior yearling and a master showman and fitter award. Jason Campbell, Conneaut Lake, 2nd place with his Senior yearling and 4th place with his Dry cow. Brown Swiss Breed: Mark Livingston, Jamestown, 4th place and a master fitter award with his Junior calf. Sabrina Wilhelm, Centerville, 4th place with her Intermediate yearling. Guernsey Breed: Miles Livingston, Jamestown, 9th place and a master showman award with his Junior calf. Heather Jackson, Cochranton, 10th place and a master fitter award with her Junior yearling. Jaymie Smith, Erie, 13 th place with her Junior yearling. Robin Wagner, Meadville, Ist place and a master fitter award with her Senior yearling and Junior Champion. Sec retary of Agriculture Clayton Yeutter today asked dairy produc er and other farm organizations certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to nominate candi dates to succeed 12 members of the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board whose terms expire April 30, 1990. Yeutter will appoint 12 from those nominated to serve three year terms beginning May 1, 1990, and ending April 30, 1993.
