High Wins Second Consecutive New Holland Fair Champion Steer Honors

NEW HOLLAND (Lancaster
Co.) For the second year in a
row, Casey High had the champion
steer at the New Holland Fair.
Both animals were purebred
Angus. ET, a 1,310-pound Pine
Drive Big Sky son, already had
won championship titles this year.
Casey High, right, showed the grand champion steer at
the New Holland Fair. The Angus was bought buy New Hol
land Sales Stable, where the auction was held. Norman
Kolb, center, and Abe Dlffenbach represented the Stables,
which paid $1.52 per pound for the steer.

daughter of Larry and Barb Weav
er of New Holland, had a Hamp
shire cross wether.
Chupp sold her lamb to top bid
der Ken Stoltzfus of Stoltzfus
Meats for $225.70, or $1.85 per
pound. The total sales volume for
market lambs was $2,322.63 with
an average of $1.09 per pound.

the J6-year-old daughter of Bill
and Ruth Ann Martin, showed a

cross. Thursday’s win was the sec
ond reserve champion title in her
seven years of cattle exhibition.
Krista sold her 1,190-pound
steer, Weston, to John Yoder of
Yoder’s Country Market and
Restaurant for $1.20 per pound.
The steers averaged $1 per
pound and totaled $14,771.
