NORTHEAST CHICKEN PARTS: PART
1 OF 2: FEDERAL-STATE. Buying inter
est was irregular but improved overall.
Cutleti were fully adequate at $1.90 and
clearing fairly well at this level. Whole
breasts were unevenly distributed with a
few early morning offerings cleared rather
easily. Leg quarters were in active demand
at traders booked for current and planned
retail promotional activity. Legs were
adequate and in closer balance due to the
increased call for leg quarters. Wings were
fully adequate to instances burdensome.

Delmarva Broiler
Fryer Market
Tuesday, October 4, 1989
Demand for ready to cook whole fryers
was no better than fair but about as
expected. Supplies were more than adequ
ate and being offered at competitive prices
but very little buyer interest was noted. In
the pans complex, supplies of cutlets and
wings were fully adequate, whole breasts
were adequate, legs were in close balance,
and leg quarters were tight. Less than
trucklot asking prices were unchanged at
48-56 cents. Live supplies were adequate
with average live weights in a range of
desirable to heavy. Today’s slaughter sche
dules were moderately heavy. The trade
sentiment was generally steady.
