Com futures prices closed from
1/2 cent higher to 1-1/2 cents low
er this aftemooh after a day of nar
row range trading. Opening pres
sure was in response to “sell the
fact" trading after yesterday’s
announcement of a sale of 2 mil
lion metric tonnes to the USSR.
Additional sales were tied to slack
commercial demand and reports
of good harvest progress. Losses
were partially offset by news of
light farmer sales and hopes that
