Pinesedge and GMC Farms Share Premier Honors
At Milki Shorthorn Show

HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.)
Pinesedge Farm of Shoe
makersville, Pa. captured the pre
mier breeder award at the Milking
Shorthorn Show Tuesday. The
show was part of the Pennsylvania
All-American Dairy Show held all
week in the Farm Show Complex
in Harrisburg.
Samuel Yoder and family of
Pinesedge added this premier
breeder banner to their collection
of ribbons, rosettes, trophies,
plaques, plates and banners from
26 years of showing and winning
with Milking Shorthorn at the Pen
nsylvania All-American Show.
Premier exhibitor honors went
to a 4-year PA All-American show
couple, Gregory and Marcia Clark
of GMC Farm in Tumbridge, Ver
mont. This was their first premier
exhibitor award and first champ
ionships of the show.
Ridgeway Shaw owned by Lee J
Clark of Leeside Farms in Ogdens
berg, New York, took the grand
championship in the Milking Shor
thorn show. This 6-year-old
impressed show judge Merton
Sowerby with her tremendous
quality, size and scale. Shaw took
best udder in the class with the
most balance, symmetry in the
udder and height and width of rear
udder over all her class
contestants.
Pinehurst Ruby Rucinda, the
first-placed senior 2-year-old exhi
bited by Gregory and Marcia Clark
of Tumbridge, Vermont, took the
reserve grand championship in the
Milking Shorthorn show. Rucinda
also took the best udder in her
class.
The best senior female bred and
owned by an exhibitor was
Pinesedge Alfair Sonja owned by
Phyllis Yoder of Batavia, New
York. This big, strong cow had
more depth of fore rib and more
strength of udder with an advan
tage in teat placement to give her
the best udder in her 3-year-old
class.
Best junior female bred and
owned by an exhibitor went to
Huck’s K-Schie a
senior yearling exhibited by Hucks
Hidden Acres in Tumbridge, Ver
mont.
Junior champion went to GMC-
Ap-King Pansy-Exp, a junior year
ling owned by Gregory and Marcia
Clark of Tumbridge, Vt. Projected
production on this champion is
16,794 pounds of milk with 615
pounds of butterfat.
Reserve junior champion hon
ors went to best bred and owned
junior female, Huck’s K-Schie
Genie-Exp owned by Hucks Hid
den Acres.
Premier sire of the show was
Elwood SV Promise. Nearly 110
head of the finest Milking Shor
thorn dairy cattle competed in
Tuesday’s show.

the title in Monday’s Junior dairy show held In conjunction

Victoria, at the Guernsey Junior Dairy Show held in Harris
burg on Monday. Robin also exhibited the reserve grand
champion of the show, senior 2-year-old, Carosa

Amy Kline exhibited the Junior champion in the Junior
Ayrshire show held In Harrisburg on Monday. The winner
was the senior yearling, Kline-Farm Ellie.
