ACRES CORN UPDATE;
Corn futures prices improved
today and ended the session from
unchanged on the deferred July
and September options to 1-1/4
cent higher on the December.
Price improvement came on buy
ing tied to weather predictions
calling for a chance of frost this
weekend in the upper midwest.
Further support was attributed to
rumors that the USSR had pur
chased 60,000 metric tonnes of
U.S. com gluten meal. Korea pur
chased 100,000 metric tonnes of
com overnight with Taiwan pass
