Jersey Cattle Club
REYNOLDS, Oh. The hir
ing of three new staff members
has been announced by Maurice
E. Core, Executive Secretary of
The American Jersey Cattle Club
(AJCC) and National All-Jersey
Inc. (NAJ).
Alan Kozak, State College,
Pennsylvania, has been named
Southwest Area Representative
effective August 1, 1989. Kozak
will offer the services of AJCC
and NAJ in California, Nevada,
Arizona and New Mexico. Kozak
is a 1984 graduate of The Pennsyl
vania State University and is cur
rently the Business Manager of
the Pennsylvania Guernsey
Breeders Association.
Kozak coached the first place
team at the 1988 National 4-H
Dairy Cattle Judging Contest. He
will accompany the team to Scot
land to compete in an international
dairy judging contest this summer.
Kozak spent two years as an
Assistant County Agent for the
Pennsylvania Cooperative Exten
sion Service and has also worked
at Co-Hill Farms, Twin Brook
Farm and Misty Acres in each
aspect of dairy operations.
While in college Kozak served

the Ogston Farm Trophy and the
High Lawn Farm Trophy, respec
tively, at the 1989 American
Jersey Cattle Club Awards Break
fast on June 17 in Cedar Rapids,
lowa.
The 1988 Content taw the first
time in history that six entries had
over 200,000 pounds milk. Addi
tionally, four entries had lifetime
credits over 10,000 pounds fat.

Carol A. Drcisbach, Hamburg,
Pennsylvania, was named Assis
tant Editor of the Jersey Journal.
She will contribute to all aspects'
of Jersey Journal production
including editorial and advertising
material beginning July 1, 1989.
Drcisbach is a May, 1989 grad
uate of The Pennsylvania State
University, where she majored in
Dairy Production and minored in
English. An active member of the
Penn State Dairy Science Club,
Dreisbach was co-editor of the
1988 Penn State Dairyman Year
book and sophomore representa
tive to the Agriculture Student
Council. As a member of the
Dairy Judging Team at Penn State,
she was the high individual and
high oral reason presenter at the
Penn State Spring Judging Con
test, placed fifth at the Eastern
States Exposition Collegiate Con
test, and placed ninth at the Penn
sylvania All-American Contest
Carol is the daughter of Dr.
Robert and Mrs. Helene Dreis
bach, and was actively involved in
the family’s Long Meadows Farm
Jersey operation.
Larry Haworth, Manteca, Cali
fornia, is the new Northwest Area
Representative and will provide
AJCC and NAJ services for
Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah,
Montana, Wyoming and
Colorado.
Haworth is a June, 1989 gradu
ate of California Polytechnic Uni
versity where he majored in Dairy
Science and minored in Agricul
tural Business Management
Haworth was an assistant herds
man for nine years at Dutra Farms,.
Inc., where he assisted in milking,
caring and feeding of the 1,100
cows. He has been a creamery
assistant at the Cal Poly Creamery
since 1987 and a sweet com grow
er at the Cal Poly Sweet Com
Enterprise Project
Haworth’s other college activi
ties include Agricultural Commu
nicators of Tomorrow, Los
Lecheros Dairy Club, National
Agricultural Marketing Associa
tion and Young Farmers. He was
the recipient of the San Joaquin
County Livestock Boosters Scho
larship and the Stanislaus County
Holstein Breeders Scholarship.
