My name is Aaron Krick. I am
11 years old. My mom’s name is
Toni Reigel and my best friend’s
name is John Clark. I was never
really around horses until my good
friend John Clark started teaching
Everyone Can Be Active
Some people think they can’t be
active. TTiey think they’re too fat
or too thin. Or they have trouble
breathing. Or they can’t see well.

These people started out with big
problems. But that didn’t stop
them from being active. They each
had a dream. They all worked very
hard to reach their dreams. And
they had fun doing it.
Jim McMahon
At age 6, Jim hurt his eye badly.
But his vision problem didn’t stop
him from being active. He played
baseball and basketball in school.
And he is best known as quarter
back of the Chicago Bears. Jim
even led the Bears to a Superbowl
Victory.

me. John and his parents have a lot
of horses, but my favorite is a stan
dardbrcd named Victor that was an
ex-race horse. Victor is just as
green as I am when it comes to the
saddle, but thanks to my friend
John, Victor and I are learning a lot
together. John is teaching me

U.S. Olympic Team
Sixty-seven members of one
Olympic team had asthma. People
with asthma have trouble brea
thing. Some people with asthma
are afraid to be active - but not
these athletes. In fact 40 of those
with asthma won medals. (If you

everything from muking out stalls
to grooming to proper riding tech
niques. I hope that someday I will
be as good with horses as my
friend John.
Scott Hamilton
As a child Scott was very sick.
He even stopped growing for a
while. He was in the hospital a lot.
Even so, he wanted to learn to ice
skate. He did leant and got very
good at it. Later Scott won an
Olympic gold medal in figure
skating.

Wilma Rudolph
Wilma had double pneumonia
and scarlet fever at age 4. Because
of her sickness, she couldn’t walk
for two years. But that didn’t stop
her. As she got better, she got
more and more active. Later, Wil
ma ran in the Olympics. And
guess what? She won 3 gold
medals.
My name is Mattie Fisher. I am
11 years old. My birthday is
August 14, 1977. I have three
brothers and four sisters. Their
names are Fannie, Barbara,
Gideon, Rebecca, Aaron, David
and Emma.
Fannie, Barbara, Gideon and
Rebecca are married. I have 11
nieces and nephews. My father’s
and mother’s names are Jonathan
and Mattie Fisher.
We have 19 hens and three roos
ters, one turket, 18 big rabbits and
a lot of little ones, two lambs
named Wooly and Whitie, a dog
named Fluffy and three cats; Cher
ry, Pepper and Smartie.
We also have seven work
horses, Jane, Jack, Kate, Betz,
Andy, Bill and Charlie and four
drivers Jerry, Brownie, Bess and
Blackie.
We have a lot of white pigeons
too.
Dear Kid’s Komer,
I am Quinton Wenger. I turned
six years old on November 2.1 live
on a poultry farm. Sometimes, I
help gather eggs, and sometimes I
help my mom by watching my
little brother. I have five brothers:
Merlin, 18; Douglas, IS; James
and Jason are both 12; and Andrew
is 21 months-old. I lie to play
trucks with Andrew and play in the
sandbox. I like to ride bike and
feed rabbits.
The twins and Hike to cut out
pictures of buildings and equip
ment from Lancaster Farming.
Then we each set up a paper farm
and play farming with our paper
tractor. We hitch our equipment on
with scotch tape. My dad and older
brothers grumble if they want to
read the “Lancaster Farming”
and find it is cut full of holes. So
we may only use the issues that are
one week old.

Our school let out May 10, and
our picnic was May 6.
Wc have 36 cows and several
calves and heifers and one lamb.
The lambs name is Frisky. We
have 4 horses. Their names are
Sporky, Scotty, Sonny, and Tony.
Our dogs names are Buster, Tippy
and Cindy.
- We have 1 / -acre of asparagus to
sell at home. If we don’t get it sold
at home, we take it to the auction to
sell.

pies. She had eight but they were
dead. We have seven children in
