Demand for ready-to-cook whole fiyen
was fairly good. Supplies of heavier sizes
were short of needs, lighter weights adequ
ate. In the parts complex, supplies of legs
and leg quarters were short of an active
demand, wings and cutlets were about
adequate, and whole breasts were more
than adequate for immediate-needs. Less
than tiucklot asking prices were unchanged
at 69 - 81 cents. Live supplies were about
adequate but average live weights were
lighter than desired. Today's slaughter
schedules were moderately heavy. The
trade sentiment was steady.

Trucklot buying interest was moderate
to good and generally best on confidently
held offerings of leg quarters. Legs were
no more than adequate and clearing well.
Cutlets were adequate to fully adequate
with spot trading in trucklot volume noted
at lower levels to stimulate demand. Whole
breasts were available and in excess of cur
rent needs, particularly from Southern pro
duction points. Wings were irregularly dis
tributed ranging adequate to instances
short. Gizzards were in light supply.

Light type hens traded in a wider price
range than last week. Heavy hens traded at
19 cents at the IX. 922 cents at the plant
Offers from producers for light type hens
were very light and scattered, and offers
for heavy hens was light. Buyers were
active and'were bidding at unchanged
prices for next week needs. Processors
operated pan time to full schedules. Can
nes pack product cleared to an active
demand at higher trending prices.
