When land development forced the Daniel Smith family, then of Gilbertsville, located SO miles north of Philadelphia, to move, they looked for new farm ing land in Morrison’s Cove. “Moving was an undertaking we wouldn’t do again,” Dan Smith says now as he sits back on the comfortable living room sofa and gazes out at the farmland sur rounding the picturesque Smith home. “We moved everything, the silo, outbuildings, 85 cows, and four kids.” The Smith undertaking began in 1976 and completion of the project took two years. ' “We came in that lane just be fore sunset,” Beverly remembers. “There was nothing here but mud and one very run down farmhouse as well as a bam in good condition and lots of good farming soil 150 acres of it. We had promised the kids a stream and a woods and the farm offered both. We looked at each other and knew we were home.” “You see,” chimes in Dan, “we were both seeing what wasn’t actually here. He felt drawn to Morri son’s Cove because of the proxi mity to his old college town.
