JOHNSTON, IA The Micro
bial Genetics Division of Pioneer
Hi-Bred International, Inc., is
announcing the release of a new
formulation of its alfalfa hay
inoculant.
Pionecr(r) brand 1155 Alfalfa
Hay Inoculant is now available in
a granular form that is applied
directly to the hay.
The bacterial inoculant is deve
loped specifically for alfalfa hay
and allows producers to bale up to
25 percent moisture. This allows
for reduced weather risks, better
looking and more palatable hay.
The product contains naturally
occurring bacteria (Bacillus pumi
lus) which helps inhibit mold
growth and retards spoilage.
No harmful fumes are emitted
by 1155 and it is non-caustic and
environmentally-friendly. The
product is easily applied using a
Gandy(tm) applicator, which is
available from Pioneer
representatives.
In addition to being an all
natural product, 1155 is cost effec
tive at approximately $3.20 per
ton for treatment.
