She pointed out that a few years ago, a dollar for the price of a bread was unthinkable. It was pointed out that the farmer receives less than S cents of the retail price of a loaf of bread. Plans are being made for the formation of a mushroom com modity committee to advise and prepare'policy for the Fanner’s Association and the Pennsylvania Fanner’s Association. This will provide further exposure for mushroom grower’s concerns in the public forum. Elmer Mast, Parkesburg, chair man of the Policy Development Committee urged Directors to attend the organization meeting on August 9 at 8:30 a.m. Mast said that all members should be involved in preparing policy state ments that will pertain to local affairs as. well as state and national issues. Bartels told Directors that Chester/Delaware Fanner’s Asso ciation will be hosting Ladies Day Out, for nine area counties, on June 1 at the Red Rose Inn. The speaker will be Dick Hutton from Star Roses speaking of “Roses For You.” Each person attenting will receive a rose. “Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 869-2126 on or before May 24,” Bartels said.
