Smith pointed out that the use of
cover crops in Lancaster County is
particularly valuable in view of the
fact that soils here are among the
lowest in the state in organic mat
ter content.

Teachers Association on Wednes
day heard York-Lancaster District
Vo-Ag Director T. M. Malin of
York report a 1957-58 school year
total labor income of $86,776.99
for the county’s 357 vocational
agriculture students completing
projects last year.
Net profit for the county’s FFA
members, before the addition of
their own labor worth, was
$71,708.94 according to reports
submitted by the instructor
advisors of the nine vocational
agriculture departments in the
county.
-Farm Women No. 10 met
Saturday in the home of Mrs.
Edward Bowers, Lititz RD3.
Roll call was answered by devo
tions given by Mrs. Wayne G.
Brubaker.
The members voted to serve as
hostesses to patients at the County
Hospital April 9. On April 28,
members will serve as waitresses
at Heart Haven Bazaar.
