April 5, 1989
Trading was reported in a wider range of
prices compared to last week. Trade senti
ment was cautiously steady. Offers from
producers were light but increasing as they
assess developments in the egg markets.
Buyers have several flocks booked at open
prices to move off the farms during the
next two weeks. Processors operated full
schedules but most have line lime available
for next week. Demand for canner pack
product no better than fair but processor
inventories very light. The undertone was
barely steady.

Trading activity was limited but usually
at increasingly competitive price levels.
Buyers were extremely cautious and selec
tive. Breakers continued to bid lower for
available offerings of raw materials to
enable them to further reduce asking prices
for finished product Floor stocks were
sufficient to handle current trade needs.
