Their man agement skills and milk produc tion were analyzed to determine the winner. The Donside Farm was also the top herd for protein production with 18,884 m 3.77% 71 If and 630 pounds of protein and 73 cows. The top herd for butterfat pro duction went to Harry Schrader and Sons with their record of 18,661 m 3.98% 743 f. MD President William Schnebly presided over the annual meeting where this year’s winner of the Dairy Man agement Award went to Gilson Martin. His milk record plus the average records on cow manage ment areas were given points based on a set criteria. His herd was also the top in the county for milk and fat production. On 30 cows they produced 21,125 m 779 f. The leader in the county for protein production went to Tru man Martin. His 109 cows pro duced a record of 20,596 m 641 p. Truman also showed the greatest increase in pounds of milk, butter fat and protein over last year. His increases were 3.451 m 97f and llOp. Owen Martin had the top cow on lifetime production. His 11-year-old Holstein produced 225,660 m 8,169 f. The Arjubell Farm had the most cows which produced over 100,000 pounds of milk in their lifetime with ten. The following herds each had two Milk Marketing Assoc Skinner Named Outstanding The high cow for fat milk went to Harry Schrader and Sons with their cow Schrader’s Dymo Hattie producing 28,804 m and 4.0% fcm. In the colored breeds it went to Wm. Messix with his Guernsey which made 21,503 m 4.0% fcm. President Louis Palmatary stated that the county increased by one herd over last year as well as increased the production average. On 19 herds the county average is now 17,171 m 641 f 558 p on 1635 cows. That compares letter than the state average which is 16,335 m 609 f 533 p.
