March 18, when three of Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Fox hounds Pony Club teams won two firsts and a fourth in the Eastern Pa. Regional Knowdown qualify ing rounds. This is an academic team competition answering ques tions on horse sports, veterinary knowledge, conformation, horse manship and stable management The Senior “C” team soundly won the final competition plus the daily high point plaque with 470 points. Karen Provinski and Melissa Williams of Cheshire Pony Club joined Meredith Nar cum and Darlene Phillips of Five Mountains Pony Club to make up the winning team, which will now represent the Eastern Pennsylva nia Region at the USPC National Championships to be held August S-8 in Lexington, Ky. Jennifer Bleiler, captain, Kelly Ruby, Erin Ziegler and Jennifer Hill, were Senior “D” team, which placed first in the qualifying rounds. Their 350 out of 400 points won the high point qualify ing round plaque over 19 teams at all ratings! This team placed sec ond in the championship round. Rounding out the day was the fourth-place Junior “D” team made up of Alyssa Conlin, cap tain, Amanda Williams and Matthew Provinski. On March 23, York County residents will have a cjiance to learn more about managing their water at a Safe Drinking Water Clinic. The clinic, sponsored by York County Cooperative Exten sion and participating companies, will be held at the York County 4-H Center. The program is sche duled from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and repeated at 7:00 to 9:00. A clinic also will be held in Dauphin County at the Agricultur al and Natural Resources Center, located two miles north of Dau phin on Route 225. The program will be held on Tuesday, March 28. There will be two presenta tions 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to .10 p.m. There is no admission fee.
