Sarver on February 8.
Devotions were in charge of
Evelyn Russell. “The Power of
Prayer” was her subject

12:30 p.m.

The members of Farm Women
Society 3 were entertained Febru
ary 18 at the home of Mrs. Alice
Leminger.
Plans were made for a bus trip
to Portland, Maine and for slops at
interesting places enroute. This
will be a four-day trip from Sep
tember 7 to 10. Persons interested
in going on the trip may contact
Mrs. Barbara Wenger 267-7258
for more information.
The Center for Abused Women
and Children was selected as the
choice for the Countywide Project
for 1989.
Lancaster Society of Farm
Women Number 20 met at the
home of Vera Herr with Jean
Resscl as co-hostess. Twenty-two
members and one visitor brought a
paper bag with “something red” in
it and as the roll was called each
received a bag. The Sewing Com
mittee reported saddle bags arc
being made. On February 22
members are to meet at Ml. Eden
Church to get bed pads ready for
sewing at the March meeting to be
held at Vivian Hess’s home.

A two-day trip to Seven Springs
Resort Area for the spring rally of
The Pennsylvania State Societies
of Farm Women is planned for
June 7 and 8.
The program was presented by
Peggy Schwartz, chief operation
officer for bank credit card opera
tions of Meridian Bank. She spoke
on the use and processing of bank
credit cards.
The next meeting will be March
18th at St. Luke’s U.C.C. Litiu.
The program will be a slide tour of
Australia presented by Jane
Gregory.

Horse Races again this year on
March 18. It was agreed that the
project of “Make a Wish” was the
one our president, Anna Mary
Groff, should take to the board
meeting for the county project.
It was voted to make Sara Hor
ner, who is no longer able to
attend the meetings, an honorary
member. Mary Rintz and Kath
leen Keen have given reports on
the Slate Convention and one of
the things reported was that there
are 33 Societies in Lancaster
County and 898 members.

Women Society #25 met February
11 at the home of Helen Thomp
son, Lancaster. Sixteen members
and one guest attended.
The meeting was called to order
by Frances Grccnawall, vice
president.
Dons Thomas, Home Econom
ist, gave the group many interest
ing and useful ideas on keeping
food safe. The topic of “Food
Safety is no Mystery” brought
forth the fact that many of the
ideas about storage of food should
be changed. We should be espe
cially careful in our use of meats,
poultry and eggs.
Bca Newswanger reported 231
hours given by members at the
Heart Association.
The sale at Millcrsvillc Fire
Hall will be held March 11. Any
usable items, crafts, plants and
packaged foods will be welcome.
Bca Newswanger won the Sur
prise Gift. The Proclamation o(
Farm Women’s Day October 14
was read.
Next meeting will be March 11
at the home of Mary Roland,
Lancaster.
