Windsor Manor Farm tops October DHIA
Windsor Manor Farm (Jason and Donna Myers) of New
Windsor, MD, had the herd with the highest average for
the month of October, according to figures just released by
the Carroll-Baltimore Dairy Herd Improvement
Association.
DHIA is a milk testing and record system used by mod
ern dairymen to help him to manage his business more
efficiently. These records are also used in improving sires
for artificial breeding and are used in research conducted
by the USDA and the University of Maryland.
During the month of October, 118 dairymen in Carroll-
Baltimore counties participated in this program. Listed
below are the top ten herds based on their herd averages
over the past year.
