The commercials are part of an ambitious promotion program to gain brand recognition for Sauder’s, one of the North east’s largest marketers of eggs. Paul Sauder, president of the firm, said Louganis is an ideal spokesman for his company. “Greg is articulate, he’s know ledgeable about nutrition, he’s a great athlete and he ate lots of eggs while he was training for the Olympics. “Eggs are a wholesome and natural food. A certain amount of medical folklore has cast eggs in the role of cholesterol villain. I think that’s unjust, especially with the Sauder’s brand of lower cholesterol eggs. Greg is going to help us get our story out to the public.” Sauder said Sauder’s Eggs have a cholesterol content of 195 milli grams or less per large white egg. “That’s 25 percent lower than the 272-milligrams-per-egg figure used by most nutritionists, doctors and food writers,” said Sauder.
