Trading activity improved slightly as
dealers prepared for post holiday business.
Some interest in feature activity has also
developed. Whole breasts were still weak
but stabilizing somewhat at the lower
levels. Other items were generally steady
with offerings moving into a better
balanced position. Retail and distributive
movement remained quiet

Demand for ready-to-cook whole birds
was sufficient to keep seasonally reduced
supplies in fair balance. In the parts com
plex whole breast were adequate to fully
adequate. The remaining items were gener
ally adequate. Less than trucklot asking
prices were unchanged at 57 to 69 cents.
Live supplies were moderate. Weights
were desirable to occasionally heavy.
Slaughter schedules were moderate. The
undertone was steady.

was light as buyers resisted the higher ask
ing prices and attempted to put off any new
purchases. Breaking schedules were lighter
than usual as processors were cautious and
tried to avoid building high priced
