on Monday, Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m. We will also receive tobacco all
week from Nov. 28 through Dec. 2.
BUYERS CANT HARDLY WAIT. That is why they are pounding
on your door trying to purchase tobacco before sale time. They have
all been in touch with the sale barn and have said they WILL be fol
lowing the sale. They are already concerned about getting enough
tobacco for their orders. It is very important that we have a ware
house packed full.
The Burley Markets opened on Monday, Nov. 21. Tobacco is very
much in demand and companies are bidding aggressively!
This could be another year like 1985 - if you stick together like
you did then, don’t sign contracts, and bring your tobacco to
AUCTION.
PLEASE - Buyers are concerned that farmers are mixing their
bottoms in with middles. It is true you probably will have less bot
toms this year but definately put them into their own grade or they
will appear as yellow streaks in your good middles.
