(CAAS) elected four new direc
tors to its IS-member bpard this
fall and re-elected William Sheaf
fer, of Beavertown, for a second
term. New directors are Albert P.
Barnett, R.D. Boswell; Warren
Mathias, R.D. Hummelstown;
Paul McPherson, New Park; and
Marcia Minor, R.D. Washington.

CAAS board of directors are Pres
ident David Morrow, State Col
lege; Wayne Mortensen, Crom
well, Connecticut; Laura England,
Southampton; Russell Seward,
Bellefonte; Senator Roger Madi
gan, Towanda; and Stanley Zaho
ra, Conneaut Lake.
CAAS supports the resident
education, research and extension
activities of the college through
sponsorship of special events and
activities and supports the agricul
tural industry in Pennsylvania as
well. It supports the Pastor
Museum of agricultural imple

Among its efforts is the Awards
and Recognition program, which
includes an internship award and
the Excellence in Academic
Advising Award for a faculty
member who demonstrates out
standing guidance and concern for
undergraduates. New this year is
an achievement award that honors
a graduate who has significantly
contributed to the agricultural
industry.
CAAS also recognizes out
standing students completing the
two-year programs in forest tech
nology, wildlife technology and
ag business as well as graduates of
the winter courses in Ornamental
Nursery Management and Turf
grass Management. The awards
committee is chaired by Sheila
Miller of Womelsdorf.
