Farmers heard some good news about their organization from Lin da Hix who is in charge of mem bership. The membership drive has been very successful with 666 memberships. renewed and over 300 already paid. Compared to memberships renewed in previous years, Hix said the 1988 member ship drive had fantastic results. That was seconded by Roy Christman of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association State Board who predicted that the Chester- Delaware County Farmers’ Asso ciation may go over its mark this year. In other business, Christman reported the great success of the association’s newest marketing venture to ship cottonseed, distill er’s grain and soybeans up the Allegheny River to decrease costs to farmers. It’s my opinion that if something is not broke, why fix it. We have looked into our insurance program, but nothing has hap pened to our insurance,” said Christman.
