D2O-Lancaster Farming Saturday, October 1, 1988 PA’s Finest Rise To The Top In The Junior Dairy Show BY PAT PURCELL HARRISBURG (Dauphin) Cream rises to the top and that was evident on Monday at the Farm Show Arena in Harrisburg when the Pennsylvania All-American hosted the Junior Dairy Show. This show was different than most because all of these young compe titors were already winners. In order to qualify for the Pennsylva nia Junior Dairy Show each entry had to earn a blue ribbon at a 4-H or FFA show held throughout the state. Judging the Ayrshire, Guernsey, Milking Shorthorn and a very large Jersey show was Dennis Patrick, an Ayr shire breeder from Woodbine, Md. Brown Swiss Champions Thomas Zartman of Ephrata •n Ayr*. re honors went to Shell. Breed er was Gary Mase of Lebanon. Reserve junior title went to owner/ breeder Bruce Heilinger, New manstown, with Pretzel Jade Pop Twin, sired by Bridge View Eleg ant Jade-ET. Teresa Hill of Lebanon had the best animal bred and owned of the Brown Swiss show. Little Hill Maples Marge was sired by Maple Grove Performer.
