    PLAIN CITY, OH Howard
C. Kcllgren is one of a privileged
few in the A.I. industry to have a

opportune time to pay tribute to
Kellgren, Select’s Vice President
and Director of Production.
Kellgren has devoted his career
to the A.I. industry for 37 years. He
has made significant contributions
in research and development and
was an early pioneer in initiating
the frozen semen system we know

for Select Sires, now the largest
A.I. federation in the free world.
He is repsonsible for overseeing
all aspects of sire health programs;
sire management; semen process
ing, evaluation, storage and ship
ping; and research.
Prior to his 18 year tenure at
Select’s national headquarters,

responsible for pioneering one of
the early frozen semen programs.
In addition he also conducted

this post, he also researched the
effects of heat stress on semen
quality.
Kellgren’s success can be attri
buted to his willingness to face
challenges and grasp new oppor
tunities for the advancement of the
A.I. industry.
Kellgrcn believes, “We must be
willing to commit the necessary
investment and enthusiasm in
research and development and be
willing to gamble with new ideas.
This is necessary if we are to make
