MEYERSDALE (Somerset)
Three-year-old Phil-Ru Warden
Etna ET, who had been selected
grand champion at last month’s
County Black and White Show,
commanded the top bid of $2BOO at
the Somerset Fall Classic Sale of
Holsteins August 31.
Consigned by Philip Beachy of
Salisbury, the daughter of Hilltop
per Elevation Ellen sold to Vemon
R. Yoder of Belleville as Mike
Stutzman of Shanksville offered
the contending bid.
Twenty-eight females over six
months of age averaged $1413
under the gavel of Clark Yoder of
Salisbury. The average compares
with $1250 at last year’s sale.
Randy Scott of Meyersdale con
signed the second high-selling
female, Fancy Scotties Fay Bell, a
three-year-old by Carlin-M Ivan
hoe Bell, that went to Andy Meier
of Friedens for $2OOO.
Third high price of $lB5O was
offered for Penn-England Mel
Sand, a consignment of Frederick
L. Er~' nd of W-'' ■ i.burg. Jen
nifer and Matthew Welsh of Berlin
bought the two-year-old daughter
of Mel-ESP Valiant Irose Melvin.
Prices held up well throughout
the sale, with the next high at
$1650, many in the $l5OO and
$l4OO range, and the lowest at
$9OO.

Accident, Md., read pedigrees.
Dairy Princess Tywna O’Brien of
Rockwood and Alternate Princess
Barbara Taylor of Berlin assisted
