Holstein Judge Jason Myers called this show a real pleasure to judge because of the good quality. The Jersey show had 45 head. Other shows included Guernsey, Ayrshire, Brown Swiss The county groups in the Holstein show. Central Winners and Milking Shorthorn In the Holstein show, Tom McCauley’s veteran show cow, Metcalfs Valiant Bcauty-ET was grand champion. McCauley from Elizabethtown (Lancaster) won with the Valiant daughter from the aged cow class. Reserve grand champion honors went to Becky Hostetler, Annville (Lebanon). The homebred winner came from the three- year-old class. Toby Horsh, St. Thomas (Franklin) showed his summer yearling to the junior champion ship and Malt Reheard, Airville (York) had the reserve junior champion with the first place senior calf. In the large Jersey show, Denise Marlin, Chambcrsburg (Franklin), had the grandchampion with his dry cow Pleasant Valley Superb Cashew and the reserve grand champion with his ihree-ycar-old. The junior champion was shown by Scott Cordell, Chambcrsburg (Franklin;, and the reserve junior champion was shown by Mary Ellen Deaven, Newburg (Cumberland). Dale Mummert, Chambcrsburg (Franklin) showed the grand champion Guernsey, his senior two-year-old, Darling Downs Emorys Rosemilk, and Scott Wag ner, Quarryville (Lancaster) showed the reserve grand champion. The junior champion was shown by Lori Campbell, Halifax, (Dau phin) and the reserve junior championship went to Jenelle Boyer, York. In the Ayrshire show, Debra Shetterly, Millersburg (Dauphin) showed the grand champion and Christopher Harding, Lebanon, showed the reserve grand champ ion. Heather Becker of Narfon (Lancaster), showed the junior champion and Donna Shetterly, Millersburg, (Dauphin) had the reserve junior champion. Milking Shorthorn The Milking Shorthorn show was a Young family event. James Young had the grand champion and the reserve junior champion. His sister Christine had the reserve grand champion and the junior champion.
