    West End Fair Youth Livestock Sale He
LAURELTON (Union) The
Union County West End Fair held
us 10th annual 4-H and “PFA
Livestock Sale on Friday, August
5, The sale was open to all FFA and
4-H members in Union County
exhibiting animals during the 63rd
annual fair. Each county FFA and
4-H member with livestock pro
jects could exhibit up to 1 steer, 2
hogs, and 2 sheep at the fair. Byron
K. Imcs of Port Royal served as the
auctioneer. A total of 71 market
animals were sold for a total of
$15,701.09.
The 1,305-pound grand champ
ion market steer was owned by
Miss Union County, Amy Corner.

ca, N.Y. The steer was purchased
by B & K Meats of Mifflinburg for
$l.lB per pound.

FFA member is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard W. Rishcl. His
158-pound Suffolk lamb was pur
chased by Sunset Ice Cream ol
Williamsport for $2.40 per pound.
The reserve champion market
lamb, owned by Rebecca Dietrich
of Mifflinburg, was purchased b;
Northeastern Farm Credit Scrvici
of Lewisburg lor 52.02 per pound.
This year’s sale included a total
of six steers, 42 market hogs, and
23 market lambs. The steers sold
for a total of $5,838, the market
swine $7,306.37, and the market
lambs $2,556.72.
