County 4-H
Lebanon County 4-H’ers were
awarded four team and four indivi
dual honors during Penn State 4-H
Week held July 25-28 at The Pen
nsylvania Stale University main
campus.
More than 1,400 4-H members
throughout the state participated m
judging and presentation contests
as well as pcsonal development
workshops.
4-H members honored for out
standing individual placings
include Dallas Maurer, fourth, air
rifle; Bcckc Grumbine, fourth,
flower judging; Darren Grumbine,
second, junior livestock judging;
and Daryl Grumbine, fourth,
senior livestock judging.
Teams representing Lebanon
County placed second in junior
livestock judging with team mem
bers Darren Grumbine, Jay Klcin
felter, Jason Krall, and Brian
Krcidcr, and third in senior lives
tock judging with team members
Daryl Grumbine, Daryl Bombcr
gcr, Jeff Bomgardncr, and Matt
Bushong.
Lebanon County’s foods and
nutrition team also placed third
with team members Jean Day,
Jamie Rittcl, Ralph Major, and
Chris Small. The dairy judging
team earned eighth-place team
honors with, team members Sherry
Donmoycr, Terry Hill, Dave
Lentz, and Adam Sonnen. Other
participants competed in the fol
lowing contests: Hugh Daullery,
air rifle; Angie Bollinger, Laura
Harding, Judy Mase, Becky Son
nen, dairy bowl; Dwayne Swei
gart, canine bowl; Lori Brandt,
fashion revue; Jon Manoskey,
Julie Radwanski, Michelle Slay
baugh, Amanda Wineske, horse
bowl; Rodney Bomgardner, meat
judging: Andrew Smith, Dave
Adams, event teen staff.
