The Adams County 4-H Dairy
Club held its project Round-up
Saturday, August 6 in conjunction
with the Adams County 4-H Fail,
held annually at the South Moun
tain Fairgrounds. Doing the judg
ing this year were; Thomas Dum
111, Landisburg, type judge; Mel
Durboraw, Gettysburg, fitting
judge; and Tim Brown, Littles
town, showmanship judge.

Holstein breed. His dry 2 year old.
Buttonwood Columbus Sybil, was
named senior champion and his 3
year old. Buttonwood Joe Eloise
captured the reserve title. Denton
was also selected as the Reserve
Champion Fitter of the show.
In the colored breed competition
Joy Hess showed the champion
Brown Swiss, a senior 2 year Old
Quiet Valley King Kathi. The
champion Guernsey was shown by
Michael McLaughlin with his
senior calf, Unicom Bakers Ella.

In the Jersey competition senior
champion was shown by Daniel
Yingling. His 3 Yr. Old, Frederick
Farm Connoisseur, edged his com
petition over Kathy Reevcr’s cow
in the same class, Smokey Hill St
Jeff Jen. Reever’s cow was named
the reserve senior champion. First
year member Mindy McClaughlin
picked up her first blue ribbon and
the junior champion title of the
show with her senior calf, Penstate
Royal 85. Kathy Reever showed
the reserve junior champion KPR

ning junior yearling.

club’s annual calf dressing contest.
Locally elected officials are
invited to be team members each
years. Officials participating in
this year’s contest were: U.S. Rep.
Bill Goodling, State Rep. John
Broujos; county Treasurer George
Stock, and County Commissioner
Robert Klunk. Klunk teamed up
with dairy club members Stacy
Harlow and Jayne Hess to dress the
winning entry. The “Real” Beach
Bum.
