Potter County Dairy, Beef Shows
COUDERSPORT (Pouer)
Sixty-lwo dairy cows and 24 head
of beef were shown on Friday,
August S, at the annual 4-H and
FFA Potter County Junior Dairy
Show at Millport Fairgrounds.
Grand champion Holstein was a
three-year-old Holstein shown by
Jeff Pirrung. Lock-Bar Ultimate
Hann also was named the senior
champion female. Reserve grand
champion and reserve senior
champion was Dean Erway’s dry
cow.
The Smoker Family took first
place in the dam and daughter
class. Jesse Erway of Coudersport,
had the junior champion, a senior
calf named Del-Hollow Inspire
Megan-ET, while Jamie Kibbe,
Harrison Valley, showed the
reserve junior champion, Iva Jen
Chairman Glare, an intermediate
calf. Top leaders in each Holstein
class were: Preston Hoopes of
Ulysses, junior calf. Woodbine
Premier Effie; Janet Matthews,
summer yearling, Portage Pride
Maple Milly; Jeffrey Pirrung,
junior yearling, C. Haricdale Regal
Teddi-Red; Cathy Pirrung, senior
yearling, C. Lyndway Ambass
Rosalie-Red; and Jeffrey Pirrung,

went to Kent Charles Barker with
his jersey junior calf, Jet-Sweet
Irish Creek Saint Ruby.
Reserve grand champion and
reserve junior champion female
Jersey was an intermediate calf.

champion female was a senior
two-year-old, Torreys Little Bam
bi, shown by Jeremiah Kosa, and
the reserve senior champion was

In showmanship age 15 and
over, first place went to Jeff Pir
rung, second was Janet Matthews
and third was Diane Prince. In
showmanship, ages 12-14, first
place went to Jesse Erway; second
to Cathy Pirrung; and third to
Brandi Smoker. In age 12 and
under first place went to Donald
Snyder, second was Jeremiah
Kosa, and third was Ryncll Barker.
In fitting, age 15 and over, first
place went to Leo Cornell, second
was Diane Pnnce, and third was
Lone Angood. Ages 12-14, first
place to Cathy Pirrung, second to
Brandi Smoker, and in fitting,
under 12, first place went to
Christina Hoopcs; second was
Kent Barker, and third was Jere
miah Kosa.
In the beef show, grand champ
ion heavyweight market steer,
shown by Brad Green, was a
Limousin named Mr. Majestic.
Reserve champ was a Hereford
named B J. shown by Alan G. Cor
nell. Stephanie Carpenter showed
the top Junior heifer beef calf, San
Pandora, a purebred Simmental,
while Nedra Matthews showed the
senior heifer calf, Jem Justa Bren
na OS. Top Junior yearling heifers
were an Angus shown by Judy
Erway, and a Limousin cross exhi
bited by by Mary Ann Payne. Top
senior yearling heifers were a
Limousin shown by Jennifer Pay
ne, and a heifer owned by Eric
