F4-LtncMter Farming, Saturday, Augual 13,1»8» GETTYSBURG (Adams) The fifth Annual Adams County 4-H/FFA Market Swine and Sheep Show and Sale was held at the South Mountain Fairgrounds. It was a successful conclusion for 3S members of both organizations who have worked hard this spring and summer getting their animals ready for show. The Grand Champion Lamb was shown by Mandy Hilbert, Lit tlestown. The 125 pound lamb was bought by Gettysburg National Bank for $2.50 a pound, a sale record. A trophy was presented in honor of the 4-H/FFA Sheep Prog ram by an anonymous donor. Man dy was also Reserve Champion Jr. ers, presents the 1988 Adams County 4-H/FFA grand champion hog to the buyer, Richard Byers, center, who is representing W.R. Sellers Buying Station. The 250-pound hog was purchased for a record $3.41 per pound. The 115 pound lamb was bought by Greencastle Livestock Auction for $1.41 a pound. A trophy was presented by Belmont Ridge Farm. The Reserve Grand Champion Hog was shown by Chad Funt, jwn, preset Adams County 4-H/FFA grand champion lamb to the buyer, Fay McCleaf, who repre sented Gettysburg National Bank.
