Middletown Grange Fair
T his year the Middletown
v range Fair is ceicdrating its 40th

About 900 exhibitors partici
pate in the many competitions.

o Bucks County’s finest eggs,
nroducc, hay, gram and apiary.
There also will be home products,
along with needlecraft items, arts,
craft and home furnishings. Bud
ding botanists can inspect hun
dreds of flowers and floral
arrangements.
On Thursday at 3:00 p.m. there
will be a flower-arranging class
conducted by Lori Ekelman from
v ardley Flower Co. at the flower
show display. Cost is $5.00, and
you may register by calling Lori at
493-7876 or on entry day or Thurs
day morning.
Members from all of the 4-H
clubs in Bucks County will have
many of their own exhibits and
demonstrations Many months of
hard work and dedication arc
demonstrated in the handling of
their animals, which are impcccab
i\ groomed with loving care.
Thursday’s highlights are a rab
bit and cavy shov. relays, games
and contests open to all children
ices 7 to 18. There will be a 4-H

exciting introdu non to life on a
(arm, also a goat milking demon
stration and the 4-H and open
sheep show.
Saturday, the biggest horse
show ever starts at 9:00 a.m., fea
turing English and Western classes
and 12 championship classes.
There will be the 4-H dairy cattle
show, sheep shearing demonstra
tion and 4-H sheep decorator class,
where the sheep are outfitted in
some unusual costumes, and a goat
milking demonstration.
There are numerous commercial
exhibits, many selling handmade
articles. Amaluer ham radio opera
tors will gladly send a message for
you anywhere in the U.S. or fore
ign countries where permitted. The
Aark Foundation will have a live
animal display, and local chiro
practors will do free spinal check
ups. You may even apply for a
marriage license with Register of
Wills, Barbara Reilly. A beautiful
handmade quill will be raffled off
to benefit the grange scholarship
tund.
An annual tradition at the
Orange fair the chicken barbecue
dinner, which includes a halt of
chicken, cranberry sauce, parsley
potatoes sweet com, tomatoes,
roll and butter, ice cream and all
the ice tea or coffee you can drink
