Nicki is a seasoned exhibitor with
several grand and reserve grand
champion trophies under her belt,
while Casey is just beginning. But
both Highs came out on top at the
Lancaster County 4-H Preview
Steer Show. Judge Jamie Kohr, a
York County cattleman, selected
Nicki’s steer, Ollie, as grand
champion and her brother’s
1,235-pound Angus as reserve
grand champion.
Nicki, 15, of Elizabethtown, has
been showing steers as long as
she’s been a 4-H ’er which is seven
years. The daughter of Larry High
and Shirley Bums, she has taken
Ollie, a purebred Angus, to nation-
champion honors at the Lancaster 4-H steer show. Her
brother, Casey, showed the reserve grand champion steer.
