Yost Continues Dairy Princess Duties

Lori Yost continues as
Columbia-Luzeme Dairy Princess
for another year. Lori, the daughter
of Jeanette and James Yost,
R.D.#l, Wapwallopen, will be
assisted by three dairy maids:
Carey Jurbala, Rohrsburg; Gretch
en Farr, Benton; and Maggie Man
zoni, Dallas.
The announcement was made at
the Columbia-Luzeme Dairy Prin
cess Banquet at Lightstreet
Grange, June 30.
Donna Grey, Luzerne County
Extension Agent was Mistress of
Ceremonies. She expressed thanks
to Lori and her parents for the dedi
cation they have shown during the
past year. When a girl is chosen
Dairy Princess, her family is a big
part of the promotional duties she
has to perform. Lori’s mother was
her primary assistant this past year
in helping make and serve refresh
ments along with transportation,
literature distribution and the
many other duties required of a
dairy princess.
Lori made 60 promolional
appearances. Schools, malls, ban
quets, and parades are a few of the
affairs where milk promotion
sometimes came in the form of
punch and giant banana splits. At
other times Lori lectured on the
health risks of too little calcium.

Princess. The pageant held at the
Eastern Star Building in Clearfield
on June 18 featured a covered dish

The new princess lives with her
parents, Tom and Dot Morris, on
their Mahaffey farm with their
50-head Holstein herd.

she was a clarinetist in the school
band for four years.
Lori intends to follow a career in
secretariat and computer science.
