Pennsylvania Beef Council, Inc.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Board of Directors seeks a professional staff person
who is dedicated to improvement of the livestock, beef, and
veal industries to serve as chief executive officer of the
Pennsylvania Beef Council and is responsible for
managing the programs and affairs of the Council.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have a broad know
ledge of the livestock industry; some knowledge of food
industry promotion and merchandising, consumer educa
tion and promotion, and trade association operations,
management, budget preparation, etc. Previous experi
ence with a trade association is desirable. The candidate
should have an extensive knowledge of the Beef Promotion
and Research Act as it applies to state beef councils.
Superior skills in written and verbal communication are
essential.
The candidate must be a team player who is able to
motivate and work well with others and functions as an
independent professional.
Combined training and experience must be equivalent
to not less than a B.S. degree.
Responsibilities:
Examples of responsibilities: administer Council office
operations and staff, administer beef check-off collection
and distribution, define beef and veal promotion program
goals, prepare marketing plans, coordinate state"plan with
national programs, participate in certain promotional
events, represent PBC at state and national meetings,
communicate with livestock producers and others and
perform usual functions required of an association office.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and
qualifications.
