Deere Mulch Tiller Has Features For Conservation Tillage'
MOLINE, ll.—John Deere has
introduced the 714 rrivftch' tiller,
which replaces the 710 and 712
models but retains several features
of the earlier models, including the
same frame types and sizes (6 foot
3 inch to 21 foot 3 inch).
Penetration in hard or heavy
ground conditions is improved by
using solid steel in the rear'main
frame member, which places addi
tional machine weight over the

Pa., has recently joined Sire Pow
er, Inc., as date processing mana
ger according to DuWayne A.
Kutz, Sire Power general manager.
In this staff position, Boyd is
responsible for all administrative
and technical data processing
activities, as well as the supervi
sion of personnel within the Data
Processing Department He will
evaluate user needs, develop pro
ject applications from each depart
ment head, and then recommend
project priority to the general man
ager. Boyd also will implement
departmental updates.
Boyd monitors all programming
and testing to assure the accuracy
and efficiency of Sire Power’s
IBM System 38, which became
fully operational in early 1988. In
addition, he oversees backup pro
cedures to guarantee the system’s
protection and keeps abreast of the
latest technological development

Boyd was director of data process
ing at Mercy Hospital of Wilkes-
Barre, Pa. At Mercy Hospital, he
was responsible for designing the
data processing facility and install
ing the IBM System 38, which
included development and instal
lation of its clinical applications,
as well as the training of the com
puter system users. He had also
been previously employed by
NCR as both a Lead Analyst and
Regional Analyst.
Boyd has completed the data
processing training course at
Wilkes-Barre Business College.
He has enhanced his practical
experience by attending numerous
advanced programming schools
and a leadership training course.
Boyd and his family will con
tinue to reside in Trucksville, Pa.

Three-bar machines feature
single-point depth control in base
equipment. Depth is adjusted from
one location at the front of the
machine. This eliminates the use
of mechanical or donut type depth
control stops which may be lost or
broken.
A new tandem wheel option for
the main frame is available for 11
foot 3 inch, 13 foot 9 inch, and 16
foot 3 inch, 3-bar machines for
improved flotation and load carry
ing capacity. Each leg of the rock
shaft has been redesigned to be
narrower than previous rockshafts,
allowing additional residue
clearance.
