Pageants arc underway let’s stop
and think of the old Dairy Princess.
The one who has been out there
promoting dairy products for a
year. What has she gained from
Dairy Princess? As the Dairy Prin
cess is winding down her year she
often asks herself that question.
One answer is - a lot! The Dairy
Princess has first of all gained
knowledge. The knowledge about
the dairy fanner and the new things
with dairy products. Also the
knowledge of setting out to do
something and then doing it. The
Dairy Princess has also gained the
knowledge of having to keep 30
children quiet and 1 SO adults quiet
during a speech. What else has the
girl gained from being Dairy Prin
ces? Experience! Talking to large
groups and small ones. Getting to
know people better and listening to
people’s problems. Being Dairy
Princess was the greatest year of

my life. I have learned so much
this past year. This year I discov
ered a lot of things about myself
and my county. I also found out
that 42 other girls are going
through the same experiences I am
and I know I am not alone. So
when saying farewell later in June
as Dairy Princess I am saying hello
to a whole new life and a new per
son. I will never say farewell to the
dairy farmers because they are
always supporting me and the
other Dairy Princesses. Without
the Dairy farmers there would not
be any Dairy Princesses. Thank
you to the dairy farmers.
So this is one Dairy Princess
saying goodbye to a wonderful
year. And a thank you to all of the
people who made it special.

Students Promote
In Regional School
SYRACUSE, NY The
American Dairy Association &
Dairy Council, Inc. is calling the
“Picture Yourself Here” contest a
success, having received several
entries from students in New York,
New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The contest, promoted throdgh
posters displayed in the schools,
invited junior and senior high
school students to submit photo
graphs of themselves and friends
enjoying a “Spring Break” with
milk. The winning entry, to be
selected June 1, will be featured on
posters, mobiles and informational
brochures as part of the ADADC’s
1989 School Milk Promotion. The
promotion materials are distri
buted to foodservice personnel for
display in cafeterias in the three
states.
