Dogs Need 1988 Licenses
At Age Six Months
HARRISBURG (Dauphin)—
Pennsylvanians who have failed to
purchase 1988 licenses for their
dogs 6 months of age or older are
violating the law and could be
fined up to $3OO for each
unlicensed dog, an official of the
State Department of Agriculture
warns.
William K. Kennedy, director of
the Department’s Bureau of Dog
Law Enforcement, noted that the
Pennsylvania State Dog Law
requires owners to obtain dog
licenses by Jan. 1 of each year.

ing the local county treasurer’s
office.

municipalities throughout the state

Payton says the Bidirectional
Model 276 is winning friends coast
to coast on both sides of the
U.S./Canadian border. The ability
to mount sprayers, planters, culti-
police officers will prosecute the
owners of dogs that have not been
licensed, he warned.
“Licensing provides valuable
protection for the dog, its owner
and the public,” Kennedy said.
“When a dog strays or becomes
lost, the license is frequently the
only way to trace the owner and
return the animal.
“By purchasing a license, the
owner shows he cares enough to
get the dog back,” he said. “A
license provides your pet’s best
chance of finding a way home.”
While conducting their license
canvasses, wardens also will check
to see that all dogs and house cats 3
months of age or older have been
vaccinated against rabies. Viola
tions of the state’s rabies law can
bring fines of up to $3OO a day.

The “276” Versatile Bidirectional tractor from Ford New
Holland has hydrostatic four-wheel drive. Operator’s seat
and console rotate to face either direction for best visibility
in either “push or pull” work modes. Live PTO and Category
II three-point hookup are available for either or both ends.
Planting, haying and harvesting work is simplified. In winter
it feeds cattle and removes snow.
